DETROIT RED WINGS
The 2008 Stanley Cup championship is only the latest of many achievements for the Detroit Red Wings. In more than eight decades, “Hockeytown” earned its moniker by producing some 59 Hall of Famers and bringing home 11 Stanley Cup championships to form a rich history and hockey tradition. The Red Wings’ list of alumni reads like a who's who of hockey greats, Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay chief among them. Together Gordie and Ted became part of the original “Production Line” making reference to both their scoring prowess and the Detroit auto factories.
