NEW YORK ISLANDERS
In 1972, forty years after the Brooklyn Americans folded, the New York metropolitan area once again had two teams with the addition of the New York Islanders as part of the NHL expansion. Although off to a slow start in the early years, the Islanders would rapidly develop a dominant team to create one of the biggest turnarounds in NHL history and go on to win four consecutive Stanley Cup championships. Although never playing together, Clark Gillies and Pat LaFontaine would help lead the Islanders through Cup runs and playoff bids with offensive skill and competitive spirit. We are fortunate to be working with two of Long Island’s greatest players to bring you the NHL Alumni Signature Wine Series.
